HP Police Constable Physical Test Requirements

Candidates should prepare according to the physical standards and efficiency requirements specified in the official recruitment advertisement.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

The PST checks the prescribed physical measurements applicable to the candidate's post and category. These may include height and, for applicable male candidates, chest measurements.

Do not rely on general physical standards found on unofficial websites. Check the recruitment advertisement for the precise requirements applicable to your category.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The PET assesses physical performance through the events prescribed in the recruitment rules. These can include running, high jump and broad jump.

Candidates should check the official notification for the applicable distances, timings, jump measurements, attempt limits and qualifying conditions. Failing a required event may result in disqualification under the recruitment rules.

Documents to Carry for the HP Police Constable Physical Test

Prepare the documents listed in your e-call letter. The general checklist includes:

• Printed copy of the HP Police Constable e-call letter.
• Original, valid photo identity proof accepted by the Commission.
• Recent passport-size photographs, if required.
• Any additional certificates or documents specifically requested in the official instructions.

Check the instructions before leaving for the test venue. Ensure that your name, photograph and other details are correct on the e-call letter.

Preparation Tips for HP Police Constable PST/PET 2026

Candidates should prioritise physical readiness, recovery and familiarity with the test requirements.

1. Practise Running Gradually

Build running endurance through consistent training appropriate to your current fitness level. Practise the required distance and pacing without increasing training intensity too quickly.

2. Work on Jumping Technique

If high jump and broad jump are included in your applicable PET, practise the correct technique in a safe environment. Focus on controlled take-off, landing and consistency.

3. Follow the Prescribed Standards

Know the exact qualifying requirements for your recruitment category. Practise against the official standards rather than relying on estimates or unverified online claims.

4. Prioritise Recovery

Get sufficient sleep, stay hydrated and allow time for recovery between demanding sessions. Avoid unfamiliar, exhausting workouts immediately before the test.

5. Prepare for the Test Day

Confirm your travel arrangements, reporting time and venue in advance. Carry the required documents and follow all directions given by the officials.

What Happens After the Physical Test?

Candidates who qualify in the PST and PET should follow subsequent recruitment announcements issued by HPPSC. Further stages may include a written examination, document verification and medical examination, as specified in the applicable recruitment rules.

The written examination date should be checked separately through official notifications. Candidates should not assume that qualifying the physical test automatically guarantees final selection.
