Notification overview

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala has released the notification for the HP Teacher Eligibility Test (HP TET) November 2026 session. HP TET decides whether a candidate is eligible to teach in government, aided and unaided schools of Himachal Pradesh. It is an eligibility test, so there are no fixed vacancies.

Eligibility criteria

Eligibility depends on the paper you choose.

JBT (Primary level)

• Senior Secondary with the required elementary teacher training qualification such as D.El.Ed or JBT, as per NCTE norms.

TGT (Arts / Medical / Non-Medical)

• A relevant Bachelor's degree with B.Ed or an equivalent teaching qualification as per the prospectus.

Other papers

• Shastri, Language Teacher and Special Educator papers have their own qualification requirements. Check the prospectus for your paper.

Age limit

• No upper age limit is generally prescribed for the eligibility test.

Application fee

Syllabus overview
