HP TET exam pattern

As per the latest information we have, the HP TET written test has 150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes, negative marking: none.

A separate paper is held for each category: JBT, TGT Arts, TGT Non-Medical, TGT Medical, TGT Sanskrit, Hindi / Punjabi / Urdu Language Teacher and two Special Educator levels. For the November 2026 session the qualifying mark was reported as 60% (90 of 150) for General and 55% for SC/ST/OBC/PH. Confirm in the HPBOSE information bulletin.

The pattern changes with each notification, so confirm it in the official notification before you plan your preparation. Our mock tests copy the computer-based layout, but section sizes in a mock can differ from the real paper.

How to use the pattern in your preparation

Divide your time by marks, not by interest: the section that carries the most marks needs the most revision. Practise with a timer from the start so the clock is never a surprise, and use the question palette and Mark for Review exactly as you will on exam day.
