HP PGT syllabus, topic-wise
Each subject has its own syllabus in the notification. Our mocks follow this structure:
Subject (largest share, post-graduate level)
- English: grammar and usage, vocabulary, idioms, voice and narration, ELT methods; English literature from Old English to modern, Indian writing in English, literary terms and criticism
- Mathematics: groups, rings, linear algebra, real analysis; calculus, differential equations, vector calculus, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, probability and statistics
Pedagogy & Teaching Aptitude
- Learning theories, development, motivation and intelligence
- Teaching methods, evaluation, inclusive education, education policy
Himachal GK & General Studies
- History, geography, culture and administration of Himachal Pradesh
- Indian polity, history, geography, economy and science

How to cover the HP PGT syllabus
The HP PGT syllabus has 3 main areas: Subject (largest share, post-graduate level), Pedagogy & Teaching Aptitude, Himachal GK & General Studies. Finish the area that carries the most marks first, then revise the others in rotation, and take a timed mock test every week to see which topics still cost you marks.
