HP TGT syllabus, topic-wise

Each TGT category has its own subject syllabus in the HPRCA notification. Common structure:

Subject paper (largest share)

TGT Arts: social science subjects (history, geography, civics, economics) and languages as notified
TGT Non-Medical: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
TGT Medical: Biology (botany and zoology), Chemistry
Level: graduation, with school-level questions of classes 6 to 10

Child Development & Pedagogy

Learning theories, development stages, inclusive education
Assessment, classroom management, teaching methods

General awareness and aptitude

Himachal Pradesh GK and current affairs
General knowledge, reasoning, Hindi and English

How to cover the HP TGT syllabus

The HP TGT syllabus has 3 main areas: Subject paper (largest share), Child Development & Pedagogy, General awareness and aptitude. Finish the area that carries the most marks first, then revise the others in rotation, and take a timed mock test every week to see which topics still cost you marks.
